Subject: Urgent: Dublin North Hockey Club Under Threat Due to Increased Pitch Rental Fees at the NSC.

Dear Club Members & Parent/Guardian
We are writing to inform you about a critical situation that the Club is currently facing. Dublin North Hockey Club has been an integral part of our community, providing a platform for sports and fostering camaraderie. Unfortunately, we are now confronted with a significant challenge due to an unforeseen increase of 107% in pitch rental fees. This steep rise in costs has placed us in a precarious position and threatens the Club's future in its current form. Over the past two years, we have only just managed to break even financially, and any further increase in pitch hire costs puts the club under further jeopardy. The recent AGM had proposed no increase in fees for the 2024-25 season.
The Committee is doing everything within its power to resolve this situation. We have already scheduled meetings with the Sports Ireland Campus to address these concerns, and those discussions will take place on Tuesday next.
In the spirit of transparency, we wanted to ensure that all our Members and Parents/Guardians are aware of this situation, and the actions we are taking to address them.
We are seeking the collective support of our Members and Parents during this crucial time. Without significant sponsorship and/or fundraising, membership fees will inevitably have to increase. If anyone has contacts within Sports Ireland, connections with local government officials, or any innovative ideas for fundraising, we urge you to reach out to the Committee as soon as possible.
Your assistance could make a significant difference in securing the future of our Club.
